We’re excited to share some fantastic news with our readers, fans, and fellow zombie enthusiasts! After months of creativity, problem-solving, and a lot of dedication, Mortie’s upcoming book, A Zombie’s Guide to Not Eating Your Friends, is officially in post-production and on track for release next week.
This project has been an incredible journey, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to see it finally come together.
A Creative Journey With a Few Undead Twists
Like many creative projects, the road to completion wasn’t entirely smooth. Along the way, we encountered a few challenges that required extra attention and creativity.
One of the biggest hurdles involved illustrations and imagery. Because the book relies heavily on visual storytelling to bring Mortie and his world to life, we wanted to ensure every image perfectly matched the tone, humor, and charm of the story. This meant revisiting and adjusting several illustrations so they would align with the vision we had for the final book.
Additionally, parts of the story needed to be rewritten and refined to improve the pacing, humor, and overall flow. These revisions ultimately helped strengthen the narrative and ensure readers will enjoy the best possible version of Mortie’s adventure.
While these adjustments required extra time and effort, we truly believe the improvements have made the book even better.
What Is “A Zombie’s Guide to Not Eating Your Friends”?
For those who are new to Mortie’s world, A Zombie’s Guide to Not Eating Your Friends is a fun and quirky story that follows a zombie who is trying his best to learn how to live among humans without following his… well… natural instincts.
The book blends:

- A little bit of spooky fun
It’s designed to be entertaining for kids and families, while delivering a lighthearted message about friendship, self-control, and learning to make better choices—even if you happen to be undead.
Now in Post-Production
With the story finalized and illustrations nearly complete, the project has officially moved into post-production. This stage includes final formatting, layout adjustments, quality checks, and preparing the book for release.
If everything continues as planned, the official release is expected next week.
We’re incredibly excited to finally share Mortie’s story with everyone.

Even as we wrap up Mortie’s adventure, we’re already looking ahead to the future. Our team is eager to dive into the next Roscoe adventure, which promises to bring even more fun, mischief, and excitement for readers.
